‘Scubasureros’ go to Guimaras
Police Director General Jesus A. Versoza will bring his “Scubasurero” program to Guimaras on Thursday.
“Scubasurero” is Versoza’s pet program that showcases the involvement of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the preservation of the environment and conservation of natural resources.
Information obtained from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO 6) Public Information Office disclosed that the “Scubasurero” will be highlighted by a coastal clean up and mangrove planting at Brgy. Tando, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.
Brgy. Tando was one of the worst hit barangays by the oil spill tragedy in 2006.
There will also be a fun dive at Guisi Clearwater Resort in Brgy. Dolores also in Nueva Valencia.
Similar activity was also held at Brgys. Sto. Niño Sur and Norte, Averalo here last year under the leadership of PRO 6 director, C/Supt. Isagani Cuevas.
Cuevas also enjoined all police units in the region to implement the project in their respective areas of responsibility. (PNA)
