P119.323-M infra projects up in Guimaras in 2008
October 3rd, 2007 by Site AdministratorTHE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will construct P119.323 million worth of infrastructure projects in Guimaras in 2008, according to Danilo Peroy, officer-in-charge of the agency’s Planning Division.
Peroy, an engineer, said the funds for the projects will be sourced out from the congressional development fund of Congressman Rahman Nava, DPWH and Urgent Bridge Construction for Rural Development of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).
The projects to be funded locally include the construction and re-blocking of the one-kilometer Guimaras circumferential road worth P20 million; concreting of another 1.8 kilometer stretch of the circumferential road, P30 million; and also the concreting of the 1.13 central road from San Miguel to Constancia estimated to cost P18 million.
Meanwhile, JBIC funded projects would include the construction of Bugnay bridge along central Jordan at P7.251 million and Igcawayan Bridge from San Miguel Cabano road to San Lorenzo, P8.549 million.
The DPWH also proposed for the replacement of the Mandasig Bridge within the Sto. Rosario, Buenavista to Cabano road, which was estimated to cost P6.591 million and the Nagay Bridge with P8.932 million.
Peroy added that the projects are already included in the proposed budget of the DPWH for 2008. (Philippine News Agency)
